“Value for money”

A perfect place to relax without urban pressure. It appears unique in its own way with the container type rooms. A feeling of absolute silence in the valleys A visit to nearby hills gives a splendid view of mullayangiri range

“Good palce to Relax & Freak out”

3 of 5 starsReviewed 3 April 2014

We were four of us & checked in by noon .Please don’t expect posh luxury here since it is only a home stay. So people who needs to feel to stay out at a typical hut between the plantation, yes I would recommend. The food was awesome just felt like authentic home food. Best part was you can customize the menu & there is no time frame for the food served, So you know you can just party hard and then the staff will be still ready to help at anytime .Campfire was good .I would say the staff made it very comfortable for us in terms of service. Good place to freakout for friends, couples, family. Since they have 2 to 3 bunkers they just take a booking of single group or circle..So People…. who needs to stay out of crowd & commercial resorts … who wish to enjoy the privacy with friends, family, couples etc.. ..oh yeah ..I would say YES

Feedback for improvement

The Eco friendly Cottage were good but the mattress were too hard.

I think Cottages should have AC attached ,since we found it very hard to stay inside ,especially in noon due to temperature Additional activities could make it more interesting to stay inside the plantation area Tariff could have been more economical & alternate roads could have been done ,since it a single way which leads to lot of problems if we encounter with any other vehicle opposite Stayed March 2014, travelled with friends.

“My third visit for Chikkamanglur :)”

5 of 5 starsReviewed 13 November 2014

This was my third visit to Chikkamagalur and i went in the notion that i would be staying in a regular guest house as usual .. concrete structures and not that far from town.

But what Kemmangundi home stay offered was totally different. the place is pretty deep into the coffee estates and is located in such a place where all one can see is hills and greenary not a sign of civilization. We stayed in a fully furnished cargo container unlike the regular concrete structure. the containers had a double bed a bathroom come toilet and the interiors were furnished with wood. This concept was pretty new to me and i loved the idea. there were also tents available but we chose to stay in the container.

The staff was really warm to us and were just a shout away should we needed anything. they made us feel real comfortable and interacted with us like they knew us for years.
we were taken to near by water fall. where we played a little but ran out after we were attacked be leeches :)
and in the evening a bon fire was set and dinner was ready and was served when we asked for it. the staff retired only after we did.

over all the stay the place and food prepared for us was really good.

Stayed October 2014, travelled with friends
